IV Catheterization:

the dog; why, how and when

Presented by Shalom Eagan CVT, VTS (ECC) & Ciera

Learn how to place percutaneous catheters in both cephalic and jugular veins in small animals
Lab covers area preparation, supplies, training and septic technique

Advanced Canine Restraint and Handling
Treating Cujo and Avoiding the ER:
Presented by: Katina Jones

This lab will teach veterinary technicians how to read subtle canine and feline behavioral cues and avoid being bit, the art of cat and dog
restraint during various procedures, how to put on or make muzzles, how to safely pick an animal up or get it to lie down, and how to
reduce stress levels for everyone involved, especially the animal.

Don't plan to sit still during this lab! Audience participation is REQUIRED and will determine where the discussion goes. Practice makes
perfect, so if you aren't willing to crawl around and laugh at yourself, this is not the lab for you.

Have you been bitten or seen someone bitten, and you don't know what went wrong? Have you seen a patient, or your own pet, do
something and you weren't sure what it meant? Write your questions down and bring them with you.

Live animal(s) will be used.

Wet labs have limited space so register early!
