VEG Warwick

Hi! I’m Kerry Walsh, CVT, MPH – your RIVTA President.
As I begin my third year leading RIVTA in January 2026, I am both humbled and energized to continue advocating for the veterinary technicians of Rhode Island. My journey began at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists after graduating from Mount Ida College, and has taken me into academia, public health, and now back into practice at Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Warwick.
In just a short time at VEG, I’ve seen how transparency and client collaboration can transform veterinary medicine; helping pet owners better understand what we do, why we do it, and why veterinary technicians are such an essential part of patient care. This perspective deepens my commitment to making sure our profession is recognized, supported, and valued.
As president, I work alongside our dedicated Executive Board to amplify your voices, advocate for legislation that protects and elevates our profession, and create opportunities for connection through continuing education and community events. With RIVTA Trivia Night becoming a new annual tradition during National Vet Tech Week, and continued collaboration with RIVMA on legislation, we are building momentum together.
My ultimate goal is simple but powerful: for veterinary technicians to be seen, understood, and appreciated—by veterinarians, by clients, and by the public. I am honored to lead this work with you, and I look forward to another year of progress, advocacy, and growth for our community.
