Accepting Nominations for Spring 2025 NOW!

Being a Veterinary Technician is often a difficult and taxing occupation, both physically and mentally. We were very impressed at the number of nominations submitted in 2024 for RI Vet Tech of the Year, and so this year we are going to try adding something new. We want to expand the opportunity for recognition within the community by recognizing 4 Veterinary Technicians per year, in addition to the Tech of the Year.

Do they know exactly what to say to make you laugh after finding poop in your pocket? Can they handle any out-of-pocket things clients can say? Do they always have your back when wrangling an angry cat? We hope to be able to recognize some of the amazing technicians in our Ocean State that make working in this back-breaking, poop-stepping, literal life-or-death career a bit more bearable.

Technicians of the Season will be chosen four times a year. The Technician of the Season will be recognized in the newsletter, and their nominations will be published along with a photo of the Tech of the Season. The four Techs of the Seasons will be entered to win free membership renewal to be awarded in October of each year. That's a 1-in-4 chance of winning free membership for a year, and even better chances than that this inaugural year!

Tech of the Season Guidelines:

Nominees must be an active CVT in good standing with RIVTA.
Nominees have set themselves apart by going above and beyond in the field.
Nominees must be 18 years of age or older.
Technicians may be nominated by Veterinarians, Assistants, Receptionists, Practice Managers and fellow Technicians, but the nominator does not have to be a RIVTA member.
Those nominating must use the application linked below to document how and why they feel their nominee should be Vet Tech of the Year.
